Data Protection on the Internet

Information about data processing pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 GDPR
Below you can find further information about the nature, scope and purpose of the capture and use of data when you visit our website.

The bremenports websites are continuously developed and adapted to match the changing requirements of a customer-focused, interactive information platform.

In respect of the existing website and any other content placed on the website in future, we assure you that we store, process and/or disclose your personal data only if you have actively provided the data, e.g. by subscribing to a particular service provided by our website.

Your personal data will be processed only for the purpose for which it has been provided. The data will be disclosed to third parties only if we are legally obliged to do so or if you have given your written consent.

1. Anonymous data capture

As a matter of principle, you can visit our website without telling us who you are. We save neither the name of your internet service provider, nor the website from which you are visiting us nor the name of the file you have requested.

2. Capturing and processing personal data

Your personal data will be captured only if you disclose the data of your own accord when subscribing to our newsletter, applying for a job at bremenports or using our contact form to get in touch with us.

Any data you have entered in the contact form, such as your name, company, e-mail address and telephone number, will be used only for the purpose of direct communication with you.

You are obliged to tell us your e-mail address when you subscribe to our newsletter. The data will be used only to send you the newsletter. The newsletter contains information about the latest events at the ports in Bremen and Bremerhaven and about the port management company bremenports. Your e-mail address will be saved until you unsubscribe to the newsletter, which you can do by clicking the corresponding link in the newsletter or by informing us that you no longer wish to subscribe. This will not entail any costs other than the basic rate transmission costs. Cancellation of your subscription automatically revokes your consent to the use of your e-mail address, which will then be erased immediately.

Any personal data disclosed in connection with an application for a job at bremenports will be used only in connection with the application procedure and erased immediately on completion of that procedure.

3. Cookies

Amongst other things, our website uses cookies which are intended to make our website more effective, secure and user-friendly, for instance to enable faster navigation. Cookies also provide us with information about how many hits our website attracts and about the general navigation. Cookies are small text files which are stored in your computer system. Please note that some of these cookies are transmitted from our server to your computer system; most of these refer to session cookies, which are automatically deleted from your hard drive at the end of your browser session. Other cookies remain in your computer system and enable us to recognise your computer system the next time you visit our website (permanent cookies). You can, of course, refuse to allow cookies at any time, if your browser offers that option.

4. Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, i.e. text files which are stored on your computer and enable analysis of your use of the website. The information about your use of this website generated by the cookie (inclusive of your IP address) is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports about the website activities for the website operator and to provide other services relating to website and internet use. Google may also disclose this information to third parties, if legally obliged to do so or if the third party concerned processes the data on behalf of Google. On no account will Google link your IP address with other Google data.

You can prevent the installation of cookies by setting your browser software to that option; however, please note that in that case you may not be able to make full use of all the website functions. By using the website, you give your consent for Google to use the data captured about you in the manner described above and for the purpose stated above. You can revoke your consent to data capture and storage with effect for the future at any time. Please contact the address stated in our “Legal” section if you wish to do so. Alternatively, you can use the deactivation add-on of Google Analytics (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de) if this is supported by your browser.

Please note that this website uses Google Analytics with the Anonymise IP module. This shortens your IP address so that no direct link between you and the data is possible.
